Segment your twitter feed with lists

If you’re following more than a couple hundred people (and you are, right?), it can become virtually impossible to keep track of the content you want to see. Enter Twitter Lists, which allow you to create custom feeds of groups like influencers, customers, leads, or prospects—so you can engage appropriately with each important group.

How to do it on Twitter:

1. Click on your profile icon to show the drop down menu
2. Click on Lists
3. Click Create new list
4. Select a name for your list, and a short description of the list. Then select if you want the list to be private (only accessible to you) or public (anyone can subscribe to the list)
5. Click Save list
6. To see the Tweets in your lists on Twitter, go to your profile page, click the Lists tab and click the name of the list

How to do it in Hootsuite:

1. In your Hootsuite dashboard, click Add Stream
2. Choose Twitter from the social network list on the left-hand side
3. Click on the Lists tab
4. Select your desired Twitter profile
5. Check the bubble marked Create a new list
6. Enter a name for your list and, if you like, a description
7. Choose whether you’d like your list to be Public or Private
8. Click the Add Stream button to create your list
